    Richard Eggers: born on 9/24. 1905 in Wilster in Itzehoe - died on 06.15.1995 in Jork (Altes Land near Hamburg). German landscape painter and linoleum cutter. Father of the sculptor Carsten Eggers. He is considered the most famous "painter of the Altes Land" (near Hamburg).

    1920-23, he completed an apprenticeship as a piano maker in the family business. During the subsequent training in Hamburg Pianoforte factory G. Stapel, he attended evening classes in painting at the Hamburg School of Applied Arts. 1927-30 he studied at the private schools of painting with G. Buchner in Munich and L. Paczki Mahrholz in Leipzig. He renounced the acquisition of the paternal piano company and settled in 1930 as...
