A big, soft-spoken man whose realistic, egg-tempera paintings have sold well in recent years, he has settled down in a large comfortable house with attached studio, overlooking a rugged coastline where one often sights the shy sea otter floating in the surf.

    Clark’s work habits are like his paintings – thoroughly organized and precise. He roams the countryside searching out ramshackle, weathered barns (of which there is a multitude).
