    Robert Wogensky (b. 1919)

    He was of Polish origin, his family lived in France for several generations.

    He was a student from 1925 to 1937 at the high school Buffon while frequenting the museums assiduously. Robert Wogensky decided to become a painter at the sight of " Guernica " of Picasso at the exhibition of 1937.

    His artistic studies at the René Jaudon studio (where he had a classmate Jean-Claude Guignebert whom he befriended) and then at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris were quickly interrupted by the war.

    After the Liberation, he stayed with Jean Lurçat in Lanzac and worked with him on some of his posters. Also in 1945, Robert Wogensky met Denise Majorel, editor of his first tapest...
