    Pierre Alechinsky was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1927. He is known for his abstract expressionist style, calligraphy, and printmaking. Alechinsky was a member of the CoBrA group, a group of artists who sought to break away from traditional art forms and explore new ways of expression. He has exhibited his work in numerous galleries and museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. "Gillet trait pour trait" is one of his notable works. "Gillet" Jean Grenier, 1961 is a reproduction of one of his works on page 23
