    Rolando Rojas was born in 1970.


    Rojas studied Architecture at the Universidad Autónoma Benito Juárez in Oaxaca and at the same time studied painting and restoration at the School of Fine Arts in Oaxaca, where he had as teacher Shinzaburo Takeda.


    Between 1995 and 2000 he was awarded a scholarship by the State Fund for Culture and the Arts, he held an artistic residency in Pennsylvania and founded an engraving workshop in Oaxaca.


    Being an istmeño and architect his style is marked by a constructive order, a great colorful and themes of Zapotec popular culture, fables and myths of animals such as roosters, dragonflies and lobsters.
