    Roman Kramsztyk studied at the Fine Arts Academy in Cracow under J.Mehoffer, and later in Berlin and Paris, where he remained since 1910 (with break in 1914-1922). Every year he went to Poland, where he participated in exhibitions. He was also a co-founder of the Rytm society.

    In his earlier years Kramsztyk painted still lifes and southern France landscapes. After 1930 he changed to portraits and nudes, inspired by old masters. From the years of WWII come his shocking drawings made in the Warsaw ghetto.
