Ronal A. Parlin, a native and resident of Maine, is a plein-air painter whose love of the outdoors is rooted in family circumstances. Growing up in a large, poor family in a very small house, he would often escape to the outdoors for quiet and solitude. His passion for painting developed on fishing trips with his dad and brothers. As a result, most of his work includes some body of water.

Beginning his study of art in high school, Mr. Parlin was encouraged by his teacher who recognized his talent and urged him to seek training beyond high school.
