    Rosalyn Gale Powell was born in England on March 6, 1929. She began drawing at the very young age of 5. When she turned 19, she moved to Paris to study portraiture and art in general. In 1952, she moved to Seattle to visit her sister who was living there. She studied art with Northwest Masters Kenneth Callahan and Jacob Elshin, also spending two years at the University of Washington.

    Her art is represented in the collections of the Seattle Art Museum, Frye Art Museum, Seafirst Bank Collection, and many others. She was represented by two Seattle Art Galleries - Gordon Woodside and Foster/White fine art galleries.

    She died in her home on Bainbridge Island on August 14, 2007. She is best known for her intricate still lives and trompe l'oeil.
