    Rudolf Kammer was born in 1935, in Rudolstadt, Munsing (Thurigen), Germany. Rudolf attended grammar school there from 1942-1950. From 1950 to 1953, he completed his training to become a decorative painter. Rudolf then attended ABF-Hochschule fur Bildende Kunst in Dresden, as a student of Otto Griebel. From 1956 to 1957, he studied at the Hochschule fur Grafik and Buchkunst under Professors Elisabeth Voigt and Wolfgang Mattheuer. Rudolf completed his diploma in painting during 1957 to 1964, at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts. Rudolf became a member of the "Nouvelles Tendances" group.
