He started his painting studies at the School of Art in Wroclaw with professors A. Busch and E. Kaempffer. He received further education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and L. Hertericha. He lived and painted in Hamburg. For the artist’s work, the subjects showing sailing boats rocking on the waves or pulled on the shore remained typical. These motifs were painted with strong, decisive brush strokes, impaste texture and decisive and intense colors.
