    Ryszard Grzyb is one of the leading Polish artists who changed the history of native art in the 1980's. One of the greatest of his generation, he practices drawing, painting, performance and poetry.

    In 1983, he founded the Gruppa, bringing together artists who are today recognized as the most important representatives of contemporary culture. In his works, full of humor and irony, he commented on human behavior and the current political situation.

    In the 1980's, Grzyb mainly performed compositions painted with tempera on cardboard, depicting fights of fantastic creatures and caricaturally portrayed people. He also created erotic scenes.
