Best known as one of the foremost watercolorists in Nigeria, Sam Ovraiti hails from the respected Auchi School, a style that is characterised by the use of vibrant color to express mood. Ovraiti has also worked with oils on canvas consistently throughout his prolific career, often creating cubist-inspired depictions of the the human body. Using indeterminate forms that defy linear perspective, Ovraiti
depicts fragments of the body in a fluid manner that falls between abstraction and representation.
