Also known as Samys Mützner, he worked in Venezuela, South America between 1916 and 1919. In Caracas he founded Circulo de Bellas Artes.

Samuel Mützner was born in 1884. From 1899 to 1900, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bucharest under the guidance of Eugen Voinescu, Vladimir Hegel, and George Demetrescu Mirea.
He then spent three years at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich under Karl Raupp, Anton Azbe, and Simon Hollosoy. In 1903, he went to Paris and enrolled at the Académie Julian.
In addition, he went to study in Algiers. Between 1908 and 1910, he created pointillist landscapes. He stayed in Tunisia and Japan, Oceania, and South America. In 1923, he returned to Romania and focused on peasant motifs. Today, works of the painter are in the collection of the Folk Art Museum in Constanta, among others.
