Guan Shanyue, formerly known as Ze Pei, was a Chinese painter born in Yangjiang, Guangdong. He was a student of Gao Jianfu, the founder of the "Lingnan School of Painting". After 1948, he served as a professor of Guangzhou Art College and director of the Chinese Painting Department. After the founding of New China, Guan Shanyue successively served as a professor and deputy director of the Fine Arts Department of the South China Academy of Literature and Art.
