    Born in Livorno on November 20, 1874 he died in Florence on December 1, 1948. He was a pupil of Giovanni Fattori at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. Bicchi made his debut in 1906 in the competition for illustrations of Dante's Divine comedy called by Fratelli Alinari. That same year he went to Paris, then London, where he admired British paintings of the eighteenth and early nineteenth century (Reynolds, Lawrence), especially in the portrait genre.
