    Silvio Poma (1840-1932)

    The painter Silvio Poma studied the works of Giovan Battista Lelli and Gerolamo Induno in Milano. In 1868, he exhibited at the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Brera for the first time, from which he also obtained the Mylius award in 1876.

    In 1877, Vittorio Emanuele II acquired one of his landscape paintings. Since 1883, he regularly exhibited across the country and remarkably grew in popularity.

    Silvio Poma debut Exhibition of Fine Arts of Brera in 1869, but the first official recognition arrive until the middle of the next decade: in 1876 he won the Mylius Prize of the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera with a historic flavor subject canvas romantic, in 1877 on...
