    Norwegian landscape painter (1833 Fredrikshald to 1912 Dusseldorf). In 1853 he moved to Dusseldorf, studied with scholarship from the Norwegian government 1853-55 at the Dusseldorf Academy with Hans Gude, undertook in 1855 study tours through Norway, Germany (Eifel, Westerwald, North Sea coast, Rheinland), Holland and Italy.

    In 1854 he exhibited in Norwegian art exhibitions and the Düsseldorf art exhibitions and the Great Berlin Art exhibition, 1856-1912.

    Member of the Düsseldorf artist Malkasten and active in Dusseldorf,
