    He was a landscape painter considered one of the greatest painters of the "school of Stanislavsky." Son of the architect Kazimierz, he learned from his father. In the years 1891-1900 he studied at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts, among others, under the direction of Leon Wyczólkowski, Jacek Malczewski and Jan Stanislawski . In 1900 he was awarded a silver medal.

    After his studies he traveled to Paris (1901-1902) and Italy (1904-1905). in the years 1915-1919, while serving in the First Brigade of the Legions, drew and painted portraits of legionnaires. Since 1920, he was a professor of landscape painting at his alma mater, and many times he went to the open air with the students.
