    Stay High 149 is an urban art artist born in 1950 in New York. His passion for tags began in the subway. He quickly developed his own style by practicing to write his own name, becoming one of the pioneers of graffiti with Taki183, Phase 2, and JOE 182 PRAY, whose work inspired him.

    In 1972 he added the nickname "Smoker" in his name, and the number of the street (149). A fan of the British television series The Saint (Roger Moore in which the actor plays the role of Simon Templar), he added to his signature the small figure of Smoker, an appropriate representation from that of the cult series, to be smoking a joint.
