    The following, submitted November 2002, is from Larry Hupman, who is married to the grand daughter of the artist:

    I was reviewing your site and found a piece of art of Stephen Longstreet's
    entitled "Fruit" that is supposed to have been painted in 1932. This is erroneous. Chauncey Weiner became Henri Weiner, the Artist, from 1930 to 1939 (see http://www.stephenlongstreet.com).

    He was a department store artist from 1930 to 1932. In 1932 he was a cartoonist for "Hooey Magazine", "College Sense and Humor" and then became art editor for "Golf and Sportsman" magazine. He published a few novels under the names Henri Weiner then later Paul Haggard. It wasn't until 1939 that he came up with the pen name "Stephen Longstreet". So you ...
