About Steve Devenyns

  • Biography

A western artist of oil and pencil drawing, he reflects his many experiences living the life of a Wyoming cowboy. In 1991, he received the Museum Purchase Award at Frontier Days in Cheyenne, and his work has been featured in a number of magazines including "Southwest Art" and "Art of the West."

He began painting as a diversion when he was a pre-veterinary student at Colorado State University and had injuries from an automobile accident. He is also a saddle maker and accomplished musician.

"An experienced and accomplished cowboy, Devenyns has "lived" the Western life, riding broncs, trailing cattle, branding calves, packing into the high county and entertaining others with his guitar and fiddle."
