Tagreed Darghouth has spent her career operating as a socio-cultural historian of Lebanon and the world through the medium of painting. Born 1979 in Saida, Lebanon, Darghouth studied painting and art education at the Lebanese University and Lebanese Teachers Institution (2000), respectively, and in 2002 she moved to Paris to study Space Art at the École Nationale Supérieure des Art Décoratifs.

The period in between, 2000-2001, was formative for the young artist as she participated in the Ayloul Summer Academy in Jordan run by celebrated Syrian-German modernist Marwan Kassab Bachi (lot 16), who she considers the most influential figure in her artistic practice.
