Yang Tao is a Chinese oil painter and designer who graduated from the Shandong Academy of Light Industry and Fine Arts in 1988. Yang Tao continued his studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1991. He is known for his Model Movement series of oil paintings and for contributing to the design of the Songzhuang logo and the original exhibition-center sculpture Trick.

Yang Tao worked as a special editor for China Art Today beginning in 1994 and continued in that role through 1999. He became a freelance artist in 2001 and settled in Songzhuang the same year, where he has remained active in the local contemporary art community.
