    Therese Schachner was the daughter of architect Friedrich Schachner, who mainly worked in Vienna and designed a number of famous palaces, so she already grew up in an art-loving atmosphere. She received her artistic education through Hugo Darnaut, who trained her in painting. When he rented Castle Plankenberg (Lower Austria), Schachner created numerous paintings in the surrounding area.

    In addition to landscape paintings, Schachner also attracted attention as sound artist. A complete art-historical discussion of the artist is pending, however her works enjoy great popularity and are traded on the international auction market. (nlu)
