    Tony Bevan creates works that have a strong emphasis on expression and mark making. In an interview with Marco Livingstone, Bevan expressed of his practice “Because I am painting and drawing on the floor, the debris of their making gets locked in there with the acrylic medium and remains visible… Charcoal is a very raw material, very direct; I think it’s that directness, those qualities that attract me to it.”[1]

    Architecture is a primary influence and inspiration for Bevan in producing large scale graphic compositions.
