Chen Tsing-Fang was born in Taiwan. In 1963, he received a scholarship from the French Government and thereafter studied in France, and completed an MA in French Contemporary Literature and a PhD in Art History at La Sorbonne (Paris). Since 1969, Chen started to promote Neo-renaissance, which later on became Neo-Iconography that he renowned for. Artworks have been selected into more than 300 textbooks and art related books, including "Arts & Ideas." Throughout Chen's art career, he has painted countless serial works.
