Tymon Niesiolowski was born on October 2, 1882, in Lviv. The artist's father was an official in the Galician Regional Assembly and, by passion, an avid ornithologist with a marked talent for drawing. However, it was his mother, a lover of philosophy and literature, who exerted a stronger influence on the artist's personality. While still in high school in Lviv, the artist became interested in fine art. He continued his studies at the Department of Decorative Painting of the Lviv Industrial School.
