    Tyra Carolina Lundgren, born January 9, 1897 in Stockholm, died November 20, 1979, was a Swedish sculptor, potter, glass and textile artist, painter and writer. She was the daughter of veterinary professor John Lundgren and Edith Åberg. After seven years at Djursholms Samskola, she studied at the Higher Art Industrial School in 1914-18 and thereafter (last year was read in parallel) at the Royal College of Art in Stockholm in 1918–22.

    In the years 1920-21 she alternated her education at the Academy of Fine Arts with studies abroad in sculpture with Anton Hanak in Vienna and in painting with André Lhôte in Paris.
