In 1966 he won the Città di Lecco first prize, with the work Natività and in 1968 the Sarnico first prize. Bellini travelled often around Europe, going quite frequently to the Soviet Union, where he met contemporary artists. He later had a book of poetry published, entitled "Sul prato di bianche betulle".
