    WALTER Hollis “HOLLY” STEVENS


    Walter Hollis Stevens received his BFA degree from Drake University in 1951 and his MFA from the University of Illinois in 1955. \He served from January 1952 through June 1953 as the Art Supervisor for the Paris, Illinois Public Schools, establishing art programs for four individual schools, and meeting the individual students each week. From there he taught at the University of Illinois, and the Ohio State University.

    After a brief stint as Staff Artist for the American Museum of Atomic Energy at Oakridge, TN, he became, in 1957, one of the first faculty members of the University of Tennessee’s Art Department, along with fellow artists Carl Sublett and C. Kermit “Buck” Ewing. &n...
