Landscape and animal painter and sculptor (1939 Rothenburg an der Fulda to 2021 Niederaula-Kerspenhausen near Bad Hersfeld), initially a civil servant at his parents' request, autodidactic turn to painting since childhood, gave up his civil servant career in 1978 and worked as a freelance painter, undertook study trips to Italy (Tuscany, Florence, Rome), France (Paris), Norway, Sweden and the Alpine countries, organised exhibitions in Fulda, Böblingen, Sindelfingen, Nuremberg, Dortmund, Kassel, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Munich and Frankfurt, active in Kerspenhausen, painting stays in the Schwalm (Kleinsassen), the Taunus and the Röhn, among others.
