About Wayne Dye

    Wayne Vernon Dye was born in Patterson, California on January 26, 1917. Dye is known for his impressionist and plein air oil landscapes and seascape renditions.

    He lived in California his entire life. A physical accident brought Dye to painting. Early in his painting career he studied at the Fox-Morgan Art Institute in Oakland, California. He also studied intensively with internationally known artists Pio Junco, and Abel Warshawsky of Monterey.

    Dye was a long time artist member of the exclusive Carmel Art Association. He was also a member of the Society of Western Artists, American Artists Professional League, and Santa Cruz Art Association.
