    Wilfredo Arcay, born in 1925 in La Habana and died 1997 in Paris, was one of the referents of the Cuban school. Arcay managed to place his artistic production on the international market and caused Cuban painting to stop being attributed to a localist school, which followed the influences of other more valued schools of the time. To do this, he reinterprets various artistic currents such as cubism and neo-plasticism, adding his personal idiosyncrasy, as well as the influence of color and light from his native country.
