    Wilhelm Hesselbach was born on 10 11 1907 in Hamburg and died on 05 30 1960 in Hamburg. Hesselbach was a German painter. From 1921-1924 he had a painting apprenticeship in his father's business, but Wilhelm did not want to become a painter. From 1926-1928 he hiked in southern Germany and Switzerland, these were Wilhelm's first nature studies. In 1930 Wilhelm graduated from the State Art School in Hamburg with Arthur Illies and Julius Wohlers. Then from 1934 he did freelance work. In 1935 married Alice Hesselbach, and in 1939 was the birth of a son. The family lived in the Telemannstr., where he also painted. He took trips to Cuxhaven, in the Lüneburg Heath and into the harbor. He worked as a house painter until 1948...
