    Landscape painter Wilhelm Klein was born in 1821 in Dusseldorf and passed away in 1897 in Remagen. Wilhelm studied from 1831 - 1843 at the Dusseldorf Academy with Julius Hübner. From 1835 - 1840 he was a student of Johann Wilhelm Schirmer and then from 1840 - 1843 was a master student of Wilhelm Schadow. Wilhlm went on study trips through Germany, Tyrol, Belgium, the Netherlands, northern Italy and Switzerland. An art exhibition Klein is credited with is the 1838 Berlin Academy exhibition. He was co-founder and member of the Düsseldorf artist association "Malkasten" from 1848 to 1897.
