    Willem Grimm was an artist who studied at the Werkkunstschule Offenbach and later at the Hamburg Werkkunstschule under W. Titze. He was promoted by Rosa Schapire and became a member of the Darmstadt and Hamburg secession, helping to form their style. He became a professor at the Hamburg Landeskunstschule in 1946 and was awarded the Edwin Scharff award in 1959. In 2004, there was a retrospective of his work at the Hamburg Kunsthalle. His artwork includes figure and landscape painting as well as lithography.
