About William Rowell Derrick

  • Biography

    A painter, born in San Francisco, CA in 1857, William Derrick studied in Paris with Leon Bonnat, Gustave Boulanger, and Jules Lefebvre during 1879-85.

    Returning to California, he painted on the Monterey Peninsula in 1890. Settling in New York City, he remained there until his demise on Jan. 10, 1941.
