    William E. Sharer

    Born in Mississippi in 1934, raised in Roswell, NM, Sharer has lived in Escondido, CA since 1985 with his wife Nancy, after some years painting in Taos, Santa Fe, and Denver. They have one daughter, Wilcy.

    Sharer is known for his landscapes, figures, and still lives. His training was at the American Academy of Art, Chicago on the G I Bill, after his tour of duty with the Marine Corp during the Korean War. William Mosby and Joseph Vandenbrouck were his most influential instructors.

    William (Bill) is a post-war American realist blended with his own impressionism with an emphasis on color and design. Favorite artists are Leon Gaspard, Maynard Dixon, Joaquin Sorolla, and Antonio Mancini.
