    William T. Robinson was born on September 17, 1852 in Somerville, Mass.

    Robinson studied art in Boston under George Nelson Cass (1831-1882), in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, the Gobelin Tapestry Schools, the Academy Julian under William Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905) and Diogene Ulysse Napoleon Maillart (1840-1926) and at the Ecole de Medecine in Paris, presumably focused on anatomy.

    Robinson lived and worked in Malden, Mass., where he maintained a studio in the Auditorium Building.

    His work included portraits, landscapes, marine, still life, and genre scenes. He painted scenes in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Robinson had a career that lasted over 50 years, from the mid-1870s to the mid-1920s.
