    Wijtze Gerrit Carel (Wim) Schuhmacher or Schumacher (28 Feb 1894, Amsterdam - 5 June 1986, Amsterdam) was a Dutch painter and designer. He is mostly associated with Magic realism and was also of the Bergen School of Painting, named for a village in the province of Noord-Holland.

    Bergen School artists used an Expressionist style influenced by Cubism.

    His painting subjects included animals, human figures including nudes, interiors, landscapes, still life, portraits, cityscapes and insects.

    In addition to painting, Schumacher's methods were graphics, ink drawing and furniture design.

    His nickname is "The Master of Grey" because of the grey haze that seems to cover his later work.
