Ye Xing Qian was born in China in 1963, and at an early age began to handle brushes and learned sculpture. He immigrated to France in 1983 and there he exhibited with young artists from France and Europe.

Back in his homeland, he was offered a personal exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts in Shanghai and over the years became known as a painter and a professor of aesthetics since he gave lectures at the University of Beijing.

Since the 1990s his style inherited from Chinese culture has changed. He still uses his calligraphy material of ink and rice paper but the patterns are increasingly abstract. The means of expression diversify the forms and colors of the compositions and are constantly renewed.
