Yigang Wang was born in Heilongjiang Province in 1961. Graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1997 Wang has been working at Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. Wang was also the curator of Dongyu Art Museum from 1999 to 2003.
