    Zofia Plewinska-Smidowiczowa was a painter and writer from Poland who began her studies at the SSP in Warsaw in 1905. She lived in Paris in 1911-12 and pretended to be a man to serve in the Polish Legions. Plewinska-Smidowiczowa was a member of TZSP from 1926 and was admitted to the Block of Professional Artists in 1938. She participated in various exhibitions in Warsaw, Krakow, Moscow, Vilnius, and Paris, showcasing her works characterized by an Art Nouveau style with a mysterious and sentimental atmosphere. The artist primarily painted with watercolors and oil paints, occasionally using gouache and pastels.
