Together with the painters Joseph Flüggen, Hermann Schneider, Edward Unger and Ferdinand Wagner the Junger Kirchbach received the order to create a cycle of paintings in the Castel Drachenburg on the so called Drachenfels in the Siebengebirge. From 1882 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Alexander von Wagner. Together with the painters Joseph Flüggen, Hermann Schneider, Edward Unger and Ferdinand Wagner the Junger Kirchbach received the order to create a cycle of paintings in the Castel Drachenburg on the so called Drachenfels in the Siebengebirge. From 1883 to 84 Kirchbach traveled through Italy, France and England, followed by a longer stay in Paris. Back in Munich, he worked as an illustrator. In 1889 he was appointed to the Städel School in Frankfurt on the Main as head of the painting class. He died in 1912.... Read full biography
