Franz Hünten (1822-1887) was a popular marine painter, lithograph and draftsman. He lived and worked mainly in Hamburg where he was born. Hünten started his education with a training as stage painter. Later he studied at the Hamburger art school of Friedrich Heimerdinger and at the Academy in Dusseldorf since 1847. After that Hünten settled down as a marine painter in his hometown Hamburg. His works were on display in many exhibitions up from 1851. Several boat trips brought the artist around...
