After completing his studies in 1954, he served for two years military service in the Royal Artillery. Afterwards he began studying at the Slade School of Fine Arts in London in the classes of e.g. Lucian Freud and Claude Rogers. Afterwards he began studying at the Slade School of Fine Arts in London in the classes of e.g. Lucian Freud and Claude Rogers. Sandle moved for three years to Canada for visiting professorships at the University of Calgary in Alberta and at the University of British Columbia. He took part in the Biennale in Paris in 1967. One of his sculptures was exhibited at documenta IV in Kassel in 1968. He moved to Germany in 1973 and worked as a professor for sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe... Afterwards he began studying at the Slade School of Fine Arts in London in the classes of e.g. Lucian Freud and Claude Rogers. Sandle moved for three years to Canada for visiting professorships at the University of Calgary in Alberta and at the University of British Columbia. He took part in the Biennale in Paris in 1967.
