Otto Abt was a Swiss painter born in 1903 in Binningen. Otto initially studied medicine, but in 1925 he began trade school in Basel. In 1927 he took study trips to Italy, Spain and stays in Paris. He was also the co-founder of 'Gruppe 33' and from 1939 was a member of 'Allianz'.
