In order further to enlarge his vision and develop his maturing taste he later visited Paris and Italy, returning home to identify himself with that significant movement which in the 'nineties was headed by such men as Harald Sohlberg (see AskART) and Halfdan Egedius (see AskART), and which may be characterized as the new romanticism.
