For four years, in the evenings, she studied at the Art Students League. In 1984, she moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico and it was there that she married her husband, watercolor artist, James Asher. The artist is best known for her oil paintings of vegetables, fruits, and flowers. She grows the majority of her own subject matter in Santa Fe and works primarily in the studio.
