Vasilis Germenis was born in Kefalonia in 1896 and died in Athens in 1966. He studied for three years at the Law School of Athens, while studying at the School of Fine Arts in painting, printmaking and sculpture, to which he devoted himself. Since 1955 and for five years after, he became the courtier painter of Haile Selassie in Ethiopia.
